Dr Sally Lambert is a psychiatrist with a special interest in addiction medicine.
She is registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency and Medical Board of Australia and the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists. She is also accredited in the following areas
• PIRS - Psychiatric Impairment Rating Scale
• NSW Motor Accident SIRA - Authorised Health Practitioner
• NSW WorkCover SIRA Permanent Impairment Assessor
Dr Lambert is currently working as a consultant psychiatrist in private practice for a national general practice psychiatry support service. This position has provided her with a broad spectrum of experience in managing a wide scope of psychiatric issues, amongst a diverse range of patients with mental health disorders in a variety of settings.
Dr Lambert is a Consultant Psychiatrist at both Toronto Private Hospital and Maitland Private Hospital. She has interests in mood, anxiety, trauma and addictive disorders. She specialises in the comprehensive assessment and treatment of individuals who are experiencing problems with their mental health due to the use of alcohol or any other substance. Dr Lambert provides treatment on both an inpatient (hospital) and outpatient basis.
Dr Lambert is a Conjoint Lecturer at the University of Newcastle. Dr Lambert has recently designed and delivered a lecture for the course: Mental Disorders, Personality Disorders and Crime at the University of New South Wales and will be designing and delivering further teaching in this course and across several courses in the Mental Health Practice Program. She has also recently designed and delivered several stage two lectures for the Hunter New England Training Program of Psychiatry Registrars, endorsed by the Royal College of Psychiatrists. These lectures centred around how Addictive Disorders present across the lifespan, and how Addictive Disorders present in specific populations.
In addition to her private psychiatric practice, Dr Lambert was for a number of years a staff specialist Addiction Psychiatrist in the Hunter New England Local Health District.
