Dr Ashwani Garg is a Consultant Psychiatrist who has been practicing medicine for nearly 30 years.
He is invested in the next generation of psychiatrists, being a Senior Lecturer at Queensland University of Technology and an Adjunct Lecturer at the Queensland University of Technology. He is a Fellow of The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists and he has completed a Masters from American Board of Independent Medical Examiners (ABIME) and is now a fellow of the board.
He has a special interest in trauma related psychiatric disorders and is trained in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and Psychodynamic Therapy. He has undergone psychoanalysis which has assisted him to identify subtle psychological issues which are often missed in a routine psychiatric assessment. Additionally, he is also trained in administration of various psychometric tools to detect inconsistencies during assessment.
A highly experienced IME, Dr Garg has facilitated over 1000 IMEs in the past 10 years, across all areas, including workplace injuries, motor vehicle accidents, TPD, institutional abuse, DVA and commonwealth matters.
