Professor Neeraj Gill is a Consultant Psychiatrist with over 25 years of experience in psychiatry, clinical leadership, academia, and medico-legal practice.
He is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP) and is registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) & Medical Board of Australia.
Professor Gill has held a number of senior leadership positions within Queensland Health, including Acting Chief Psychiatrist of Queensland, Medical Director of Adult and Older Persons Mental Health at Gold Coast Health, and Director of Clinical Services for the Darling Downs Hospital and Health Service.
Professor Gill is an experienced independent medico-legal examiner with extensive experience conducting psychiatric assessments in personal injury and workers’ compensation matters. His comprehensive understanding of clinical psychiatry, mental health legislation, ethics, and the legal system enables him to provide balanced, evidence-based independent medical opinions for legal proceedings.
He has an extensive academic and research background, having published numerous peer-reviewed papers, led funded research projects, and currently serves as Chief Investigator on a large-scale clinical trial. He was awarded a Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) from the University of New South Wales, with his doctoral research focusing on the human rights of people living with mental illness.
